Meet the pack
At balloon dog you'll find an impressive mix of intelligence, creativity, technical excellence and, above all, passion. Spend a little time with us and you'll soon see that we're fired up about what we do, how we do it and, most importantly, the results we get for our clients.
Here's a little taster of who we are.
James Clifton, CEO
James' enthusiasm is highly contagious and his energy knows no bounds (we don't know where he gets it all from). His vision for balloon dog is equally inspiring and he's steering us in some exciting new directions.
James came to balloon dog from his previous role as HSBC's North American General Manager (based in New York) and Global Direct/Digital Client Director, working across 36 key markets and reporting to clients based in the three key regions; UK, US and HK.
His international client experience also includes Shell, T-Mobile and General Motors. And in the UK, he has a wealth of experience working with clients such as Prudential, Nat West, npower, Marks & Spencer and UNICEF.
Chris Murphy, Founding Father
Chris was one of the forces behind the creation of Fox Murphy (balloon dog's previous incarnation). As Founding Father he continually challenges us to build on the contribution balloon dog makes to our clients' business performance – or, as we call it, brand payback™.
He has recently retired from the operational running of the agency, but is always at the end of the phone.
Greig McCallum, Strategic Managing Partner
An expert in brand strategy and planning work, Greig joined balloon dog specifically to build our strategy client portfolio. And who better to do this than a man who's worked in both client and agency marketing roles.
He has 25 years' experience in organisations such as the RBS Group, British Gas, TBWA and the ENGINE Group, including two years working with McKinsey on retail strategy for RBS. He also set up his own agency, Personal (within ENGINE) and provided consulting for others, including a period as Chief Strategy Partner for WPP's G2.
To back all this experience he has qualifications a-plenty in management accountancy (ACMA), banking (MCIBS), research (MRS) and marketing (ACIM). All in all, a rather clever chap to have on our side. He could be on yours too.
Cordell Burke, Creative Director
Before joining balloon dog, Cordell was Executive Creative Director of TEQUILA\London. Before that he spent over 12 years at OgilvyOne, becoming a Management Partner and Executive Creative Director leading and holding the title of Group Creative Partner, Ogilvy Group UK.
Cordell's experience includes producing TV, press, direct marketing and digital for clients such as American Express, IBM, BT, Royal Mail, BP, Prudential, The Army and The Carbon Trust. He's won numerous awards at Cannes, DMA, Campaign Direct, Creative Circle and DMA Echos and has been a regular judge at these events. He's also featured several times in Campaign's Top 10 DM Creative Directors.
When it comes to building brands through top level creative work, Cordell's your man.
