New client win – PACE

We’re delighted to welcome our newest client to balloon dog. PACE are London’s leading mental health charity supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and provide a range of support services including counselling, advocacy, youth work, employment coaching, research and family support. Established in 1985, PACE have evolved to support an ever growing number of people with their important work.

We were invited to take part in a competitive three-way pitch process to develop a new PACE website which also integrates the existing PACE Youth site, aimed at supporting under 19s.

The project is backed by Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities programme, and our winning proposal included a range of online support services that will allow PACE to reach out to a wider, nationwide audience.

Our Digital Director, Matt Isherwood, said ‘PACE have been doing great work in London for over 25 years. The new website will include support services such as forums, group chat discussions and 1-2-1 private messenger sessions, allowing them to go beyond London and help a much larger number of people.

The site will be a rich source of information for those in need of support, including their friends and family members. A non-intrusive registration process will allow PACE to identify individuals’ specific needs, and ensure they can provide the right levels of resource for their range of front line services.

Initial focus groups with PACE service users and staff have proved invaluable to ensure the site meets the needs of all that will use it.

It’s fantastic to work with PACE on such a great project that will make a massive difference to so many people across the UK.’

The site will also include user-generated content, a shop, blogs and online donations.

Our designers and developers are busy working away on the new site right now, and we can’t wait to see the results in the near future!
